Although this site deals mainly with the situation in Wales, and answers some questions that parents in Wales raise when discussing the possibility of giving their children the chance to be able to speak Welsh as fluently as English, many of the subjects raised are relevant to other minority languages also.
Many parents who visit this site will not be able to speak Welsh themselves; others will be part of a family where one parent only is able to speak Welsh, and some will be fluent Welsh speakers, unsure of the pros and cons of putting their children through Welsh-medium education. We hope that providing a site on a question and answer format will assist in allaying some fears and doubts that all parents might have, whatever their first language
